Board of Selectmen to Finalize Task Force Charter Tonight

Over the summer it was announced that a task force was to be formed to evaluate the impact of creating and applying ID3 zoning in the current ID2 zone, in an effort to “diffuse some of the confusion that was very clear to all of us at Town Meeting,” according to Town Manager Andrew Flanagan. The formation of the task force passed on June 26 by the Board of Selectmen, voting 3-0-2 in favor, with Selectman Landry and Selectman Vispoli abstaining.

Residents can watch the discussion on the task force formation on the Andover TV stream (the discussion begins at the 13:36 mark). You may also be interested in reading the Andover Townsman story on the proposed task force from July 20.

The task force still has not been populated, and at tonight’s meeting the Board will be voting on a “revised charge.” Of note, the task force is now being referred to as the “Dascomb Road Zoning Task Force.” I will watch the discussion to see if that is an indication that the group will now be solely focused on the Lupoli Companies proposed Dascomb Road Project, as Board Chairman Paul Salafia indicated at the conclusion of the August 28 meeting. Chairman Salafia strongly disputed the task force would be solely focused on Dascomb Road in an August 3 letter to the editor published by the Andover Townsman.

In the interest of full disclosure, I did apply to be a resident member of the task force after learning it would be formed.
