Public Transportation

The closest train stations to the parcel are the Ballardvale MBTA commuter rail station on Andover Street and the Andover MBTA commuter rail station on Lewis Street. The MVRTA offers bus service from three Andover stops into Boston.

The developer has offered to provide a trolley service to and from this development in the hopes of linking it to the downtown business district in an effort to enable access to the downtown area for those that are living in this new development, as well as bring those from downtown to this development.

The developer has indicated the trolleys would make additional stops around Andover, including the high school to support students working part-time at the development and the MBTA train station in Ballardvale/Andover Depot.

At this point, there are no plans to expand the parking capacity at either commuter rail station, and numerous residents have commented that Ballardvale is already at capacity.

Questions:

Can the town add additional parking capacity in the Andover commuter rail lots to accommodate additional commuters?

Will there be additional public transportation access from providers such as the MVRTA running buses to/from this development?
