A resident made a request to move Article 53, which allocated $300,000 toward the design of a new Ballardvale fire station, to after Article 58, given the potential the Dascomb Road Project could have on capacity at that particular station. That request was denied by the moderator.

A dialogue about the location of the fire station was undertaken, as residents expressed concern that the current location isn’t large enough for the station, doesn’t offer the potential for expansion, and compromises response times at that location are insufficient. Town Manager Andrew Flanagan addressed those concerns, before the vote was taken.
